Dear Charlie,

Life is a simple equation. So simple, sometimes we don't get it, no matter how hard we try to unveil it or maybe because we're so worried about finding a solution to it, that we don't see what's right in front of our eyes.
Life is a simple equation. For every action you take, there is a reaction. That's it.
The problem is we tend to think that only conscious actions have reactions. Maybe we're programed to think like that, genetically, the same way we're programmed to see patterns in every caotic situation. How many times have you looked at the clouds and tried to see objects or faces in them?
Life is a simple equation. The fact that we're programmed to only take notice of what we do consciously, does not rule out the fact that most of the times it's what we do unconsciously that determines the course of our lives. Because every unconscious action also has a reaction.
And so I came to this conclusion - no matter how well you programm your life to happen according to certain parameters, it never works, Charlie.
And even more important, the things we don't program are exactly the ones that count and make us happier.
Life is a simple equation. We complicate it. We're complicated. It's in our nature. It's in life's nature to simplify.
