PSICANÁLISE XXXVIII

HSSR, SSPD, SSSR and HSPD

Charlie,

A riddle: which is less painful? To be screwed by a lamer or to be screwed by an expert?
As always, I find both to have advantages and disadvantages.
DºFKÇ
Of course, if you consider yourself to be fairly intelligent and you get screwed by a lamer, then you quickly realize the scam and give him the “no mercy” treatment. But, you see, the lamer ones usually make one big mistake – they underestimate the intelligence of their victims. This results in their complete lack of ability to perceive they were spotted, hence, in the persistence of a well oiled routine script, until they finally see the whole picture.
That’s why the “no mercy” treatment works so well in these cases. It’s the only way they will ever get it.
If you give them so much as one word of hope, they will immediately cling to it as if their lives depended upon it, and they will restart their painful climb to win your charms back. I say painful because, by now you should already know what kind of an idiot you’re dealing with and the only reaction you should have is pity.
A word of advice here: Believe me – it is the only reaction you should ever have. Don’t make the mistake of believing this time will be different. It never is. I’ve been there a few times to know what I’m talking about.

In conclusion:
Advantages of being screwed by a lamer: High Speed Scam Recognition (HSSR)
Disadvantages: Slow Speed Problem Dispatchment (SSPD)

Now, let’s analyse the other case, a little bit more complex.
If you’re screwed by an expert, it may take a long time before you spot the scam. The really intelligent ones are capable of wrapping you around their fingers in such an exquisite way, it’s really an art form.
In the mean time, they will proceed to destroy several things along the ride: your composure, your confidence (if you have any), your self esteem, your pride, your dignity and, in some cases, if it lasts long enough for that, your entire life.
In the worst cases, they might even accomplish the destruction of certain pieces of your very soul (but that’s another story…a bit more tragic and we won’t dwell on it for now).

Of course during this painful path of destruction, you barely notice what’s going on. At first you joyfully give them anything they ask. Sometimes, a little voice starts shouting from a very deep well inside yourself, telling you there are suspicious things going on. And you start asking yourself faint questions, like: “How come I’m always the giver?” or “How come he made me do this again?”
These are dangerous questions, for both of you.
They’re dangerous for him, because they might mean the beginning of the end of his “takers kingdom”. And they’re dangerous for you because they may mean the beginning of a very long path through a dark tunnel of constant doubts, that keep lurking in the back of your mind and will drive you slowly into madness.

Because, you see Charlie, there is one tiny little detail that usually is ignored by the victims at this early stage – LOGIC.
I learned that from detectives. Usually a problem’s solution is the simplest answer you can find. But very seldom do people choose this simple answer, over the other million possible unbelievable justifications their blind hearts try to come up with.
Why? Because we’re human. Humans love to complicate simple things.
Example: The husband comes home smelling of someone else’s perfume. Imediate conclusion? He’s sleeping with another woman. But does the wife trust her gut feeling and confront him? No way! He probably was bying her some perfume and tried different scents at the store … !!!!!! Ridiculous? YES. Discardable? No … when you’re so desperate to fit the person’s unfamiliar behaviour into the perfect image you created in your mind. Anything goes.
And so, when you’re dealing with an expert who is succeeding in screwing your mind, that is what happens. You slowly begin to notice tiny discrepancies in his behaviour, in his words, in the way he deals with you. LOGIC tells you something’s wrong. Your gut feeling tells you something’s wrong. But because he’s got you so wrapped around his finger, it’s going to be a tough journey until you finally decide to disentangle yourself, if you ever manage to do it … (but that’s another tragic story and we won’t dwell into it either).

The good news?
Once you spot the scam, he will disappear like a true experienced magician and you won’t even have time to say abracadabra.
Again, a word of advice: Be sure you’re sure that’s what you want to do. Because if you’re not sure but he hints the slightest smell of doubt, he will vanish from the face of the earth and guess who will need to buy an extra supply of tissue boxes …

In conclusion:
Disadvantages of being screwed by an expert: Slow Speed Scam Recognition (SSSR)
Advantages: High Speed Problem Dispatchment (HSPD)

As you can see, Charlie, there are always two sides to every story.
The answer to the riddle? RLHWYSYBSCAYLAIYAREBS.
Translation: Run Like Hell When You Sense You’re Being Screwed Cause Anyway You Look At It You ARE Being Screwed
